Description
In this gallery of wild chickens you will see glimpses of their unique behaviors that have developed over the years. The wild hen is especially protective of her young and spends all day foraging for mostly seeds on the ground and bugs. At this age they are very vulnerable on the ground, protected only by the hen covering them and their total silence when darkness falls. In several days they start fluttering up the tiny twigs on the tree to reach where the wild hen is roosting. She clucks to them continuously to get them to attempt to reach the top limbs. Many times she will give in,fly down to the ground and try another day. This print is available in canvasses, frames, metal, totes and 5x7 notecards. These make great gifts as chicken collectibles.New prints are added weekly. Come again soon! © Jan Gelders Photography.
