This wild rooster is about to arch his neck to rise up and fly away.I wanted to capture an image of the strength and beauty of the wild chicken at the moment he thought I was too close, and a threat. One step more and I would not have captured the moment. As he began to move I was able to capture this image. He was gone in the next few seconds. These wild descendants, for decades, are descendants of red jungle fowl imported forty years ago from India. They have evolved into their own color deviations over the years and made themselves indigenous. Many retain the original coloring. This bird is truly a survivor.
