Description
This portrait of a wild rooster descended from red jungle fowl from India, is a colorful print as a chicken collectible. This is a wild chicken with an interesting story of survival. Red jungle fowl are the predecessors of the domestic chickens of today. The red jungle fowl were revered in the Roman Empire many centuries ago. This rooster, showing great strength in his pose,. is among a few descendants from original wild chickens imported to the U.S. for a game project that failed in the South. Because of their instinctive survival traits they have established themselves in habitats in a small southern community for over forty years. This macro print is in honor of a resilient wild bird and would be a great addition to any collection. 2016 Jan Gelders Photography. All Rights Reserved.
