Description
Camellias are flowering plants that can be evergreen shrubs or a small tree. They are known as "Tea Flowers" in China and Japan, and some species are used for tea. There are 100-250 species of this flower. In the south, in Georgia, they are one of the popular blossoms, sometimes appearing in white and red, in addition to the pink colors. This macro photo brings this beauty close up,showing a dewdrop on one of the pink petals. The flower is fragile and sometimes has blemishes. Toward the end of the growing season in winter they can be seen drying to a brownish color on the bush or dropping their colorful petals like snow around the base of the shrub. The shrub is usually filled with blossoms and buds. There is a center of yellow pollen popular with the bees. This floral collectible is available in decorative items and print in canvas, acrylic and metal. Totes and accent pillows are also included in this collection and more.© 2016 Jan Gelders Photography. All Rights Reserved.
