The aluminum sheet is offset from the wall by a 3/4" thick wooden frame which is attached to the back. The wild mother hen is very close to her chicks. She plays,teaches, feeds,and nurtures them. Some of the chicks that survive remain with the hen,when almost grown, and continue to follow her around. This is one of the images I am documenting as it relates to their behavior toward the very young.
